Behavior and Academic Expectations
First Grade Behavior Policy
Rules:
Follow adult instructions and stay on task.
Show respect to others and their property.
Raise your hand to speak.
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Use appropriate voices in the classroom and cafeteria.
Use your best manners at all times.
I will have a behavior chart in the classroom to help students monitor their behavior through-out the day. Everyone will start the day on Green.
If anyone has to have continuous reminders about following the rules, their color will be switched and with each color there is a corresponding consequence. At the end of the day, student behaviors will be marked on the calendar in their homework folders.
Please check each day, discuss, and sign so I know that you are aware of how your child is behaving.
Rewards:
Students who stay on Green will earn privileges, scholar dollars for the treasure box, stickers, extra computer time, etc.
Consequences:
Yellow: Warning
Orange: time-out in the classroom
Red: time-out in another classroom (and note or phone call home)
Silver: removal from class with possible office referral, phone call home.
Please encourage your children to do their best each day. Your support at home is vital for academic success! Thank you
